Working at the heart of the energy transition

Aurora is at the forefront of energy market thinking, modelling and analysis. Combining in-depth policy experience with knowledge of academic research in energy, the environment, and finance, we bring deep insights and understanding to help business and governments navigate the energy transition.

Bright economists, engineers and programmers from the world’s best universities make up Aurora’s team.  Our culture is entrepreneurial, dynamic, and progressive. Underpinned by strongly-held values and based on a passionate commitment to independent research, we are always striving to go to the next level in our analysis and service for our clients. Our people are domain experts and thought leaders who challenge conventional wisdom and take pride in the quality, accuracy, and independence of their research.

We strive to make an impact and be part of research that matters – research which influences the energy transition and policy debate. Aurora people value the early responsibility they get and the challenging and interesting nature of the work they are involved in. Find out about what interests and drives Aurora people, below.

Embracing diversity

Aurora is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We have an international outlook and are proud to be so culturally diverse, with colleagues from more than 20 countries. Our working environment is truly interesting and stimulating.

We are also taking positive steps to attract more talented women to the industry and to provide a positive, inclusive and fair working environment for all employees.

In Spring 2018 we launched our Women at Aurora network. Founded by Stephanie Zhang, the initiative is a formal support network for women working at Aurora and a platform for us to discuss issues, share ideas and promote gender balance and diversity across the firm. The group meets regularly and is also extending its reach to external groups and networks.

Aurora strives to create gender balance with speakers and panellists at our Conferences and Forums, and we actively support RenewableUK’s Switch List.  Our people are involved in various women in energy forums and we are participating in the Women Powering Smart Energy Event in November organised by Energy Networks.

Social life

Aurora is also a great social environment. We have regular social events and activities, including cultural and sports events, and off-site activities. Our offices focus on bringing people together, whether over coffee, lunch or after work activities.

Oxford, Berlin and Sydney all offer a vibrant city life.  Oxford, for the fourth year running, beat 42 other cities to come top of the PwC and Demos Growth for Cities Index 2019.

We are committed to providing a healthy work environment too, which includes weekly fruit and an all group Friday meeting with food and drink. View our gallery below for a glimpse of our social life.
